History/Social Studies
I will be forever a passionate learner. Along with my love of learning came
the wondrous love of teaching. Growing up I could always be found teaching my
younger siblings and cousins about various topics that eventually led to me to
tutor my peers in high school. After graduating came the time I sat down and
really thought about what I wanted to do with my life. I knew teaching was the
right path for me. Originally I planned to go into the field of a generalist for
K-6. After starting my journey towards my teaching, I discovered History held a
special passion within my passion. I feel a need to share this love of history
with kids who may need a chance to learn about and appreciate the significance
the past holds. I am eager to share my love of learning and plan on making a difference in all my students' lives.
Except for my primary schooling in Wyoming, I have been educated in East
Texas. I received my Associate of Science Degree in Education in 2011 at Paris
Junior College. I will receive a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History with a concentration in Education 8-12 from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2013. While at college, I participated in several of the honor societies. Having been a hard working student, as a teacher in my own classroom, I plan to encourage my own students to work hard, continue their education and reach to ahieve their goals and dreams.
